Thanks so much guys for all of the advice, pictures (road map)etc. As everyone has said(and knows) Our neighbors to the North are the friendliest there are around. Can't wait to get there. Last summer did a 10225 mile trip through Western Canada up to the Arctic Circle and the people were the same- friendly as can be- glad u guys won that little hockey game a few weeks ago...

Now there's a diplomatic man, if I ever saw one.

P.S.

Go here, to the Tourism Newfoundland & Labrador website, and you can order one of their excellent road maps, for free.

Depending on where you are in the US, you'll enjoy the TCH alone. It's apparently an interesting drive for those from outside the province (so i've been told).

I was attending a meeting of adventure tourers the other day in Montreal and two guys were discussing their trips. They had travelled across the US and Canada. One of them was going to visit you this summer and the other had gone to the Rock a few years ago.

In the course of the discusion the second guy asked the first guy how many Km he intended to travel in one day and the answer was 500 to 600.

The second guy immediatly said: That's impossible

Why impossible are the roads that bad? said the first one.

No the other one said, the roads are great, it's just too beautifull and you have to stop many times a day to take pictures or just admire the landscape.
