I believe Samsung makes quite the durable camera as well...it looks like an electric razor and is held in one hand...both camera and video ( i think samsung makes it)

I've got that one that and have dropped it off the bike off road, its been in snow, water, cold and so far its tough.

A friend has the one above which the below photos were taken last summer in our pool. Its what made me buy the smaller less expensive one.

Yeah, I have one too. It's been really good to me in the snow, water and shoots good video. Incredibly good for this quickie camera mount that I use facing front and back. I carry mine around in my jeans pocket all the time "just in case." It's been covered in beer more than once too. Finally got a few pics of sea turtles in Maui, made my girl really happy. Just remember to wipe the dust/dirt out of the doors/gates before going in the water.

Thanks for the info. I've been partial to Cannon cameras for a while but I'd like a camera I don't have to baby that much and as Mike put it, something you can just carry on you all the time without worrying about it.

Every time I see that I expect to see an outboard motor.

I had it down 22 feet on an intro to SCUBA dive a few weeks ago, no issues.

I had one (left it at a convention booth one night and it walked away) and I really liked it. We used it in Mexico and it took fantastic shots.

After using it in the salt water it went a bit screwy. I believe that if you have one of these and use it in the ocean, it's a good idea to give it a little fresh water rinse as soon as possible to ensure the salt is washed away before allowing the camera to dry. Ours was not working well at all the next day, but a bath in the sink at the hotel cleared it up (mostly) and it ended up back at Olympus for repair upon our return.

The warranty repair went pretty well. I packed the camera with no memory card and one battery. I received the camera back 1 week later, working like a champ (possibly a new camera) but was missing the battery. It took 2 calls but I had a new-in-box battery sent to me within 2 weeks of reporting the problem.

I'm in the market for another one of these now, great cameras!
