Speedometer error.

Do you think that a speedometer error of 8% would be considered a manufacturers defect and fixed under warranty (compared against GPS)? Yet the odometer is within 1.5% of the GPS. I find it unacceptable that a new bike can have this much lattitude in the speedometer readings for such a precision piece of machinery.

Even my 12 year old Chev pickup and my wifes 7 year old Wrangler were within 1-2%. And they had the option to change the speedometer reading at the dealer to accommodate different diameter tires.

My new FJ-09 is the worst bike I have had so far for this. If I am doing an indicated 100 on the highway, traffic is trying to run me over. If I do 108 to 110 indicated in order to maintain the speed limit, I am training my self to go 8-10 kph faster than I should in my vehicles that do not carry this gross error.

Grrrrrrrr.
