    KTM 890

The 890 is a brilliant bike: it pretty much ticks the box on everything I'd improve about the F800GS.

    CAA Worst Road

CAA is running their annual worst road vote. I was thinking we could settle on a Route and vote as a group. What's your worst roads? Route 92, Branch to Colinet was pretty bad the last time I was out that way. Any others?

    RTR lost a member

Eric (Sleephead) was the kindest and most genuine of friends. It's not possible to sum him up in a few words, but I do know I can find all his best photos by looking at a map: every place was an adventure, beautiful, and happily explored. He is one of my few friends that was understanding of my...

    Baccalieu Trails

Well, a few years back myself and a friend travelled across Country Road from Heart's Delight to Carbonear. He was generally miffed and lost his cool with me about having wet socks. I still remember is finger pointing tantrum when I suggested we stop while he wrings them out, "you know, and I...

    Ride Safe

Funny, that's my neighbours. They got paid a fair amount of cash to license that video to various web sites... maybe we should all have cams. It seems like there are a lot of head on accidents in the heavy rain. Worn tires probably factor into this as much as speeding, but is rarely talked about.

    Tires

That only makes sense when you ride in Corner Brook a lot. Strange.

    Highway Accident

Same here! I suppose it stops being news by the time the traffic investigation is complete. That's too bad; I believe raising driver awareness on all potential hazards--not just speeding and texting--would be very helpful. On a related note: vehicles crossing over into oncoming traffic, from...

    Loud pipes

I agree with all of this. Louder is not necessarily safer, and there are better safety measures which the same riders don't seem to have an interest. It is more likely they just plain like it and have no regard for the noise levels they create which disturb others. Case in point, the inline 4's...

    Burin Penn

I went as far as Marystown, and side tracked into Petit Forte and English Harbour East, return, but not the loop (on that single day). The distances would be fairly similar. Sure, go for it. Apparently lodgings outside of Fortune and Marystown are more affordable, as the others are made busy by...

    Roundabouts...

Single lanes are easy, but people are going to have a hard time figuring out left-of-way and dispensing with typical curious driving habits (like those people that never go first in 4-way stops and you have to wait a while until you give up and go out of turn). But, that's not to say I'm against...

    IRISH LOOP, Monday June 19

It's a perfectly good tire to go around the Irish Loop clockwise.

    IRISH LOOP, Monday June 19

Friend of mine left Corner Brook for Gander's ride for sight. Tire was fine when he left, 2" bare cable down the center line over 1/2 the tire. Might have set a few records along the way... Funny how bike tires seem to wear faster at EOL.
