    Batteries!!

I stopped adding the battery blanket and cab heater after I left Lab City, but I still use a block heater colder nights.

    Go Pro's: need parts

My old gopro has been thru the wars but still works fine. I don't have any batteries but I only use the weatherproof cover (the one with O-ring in it below), plus a helmet mount, so you can have the other stuff if it's any good to you. Just pm me your surface mail address.

    Batteries!!

^ Thanks for the current info Ross. My early experiences were with unsealed batteries which had to be topped up regularly in both bike and auto. In winter we'd plug in a gas operated vehicle overnight so that the electric battery blanket, an electric block heater and an electric cab fan would...

What did you do to your bike today?

I spent most of the day going thru the ride mode buttons trying to learn some more about those. I have the Explore option but didn't go for the bluetooth navigation and other stuff. Still I downloaded the Husky Ride app on my phone and may look into getting the bluetooth capability added for...

    Batteries!!

Before I had a heated garage I used to remove bike batteries and store them in the basement. One year I bought two NAPA trickle chargers and was told to leave the batteries on them all winter. I spent all winter juggling three batteries between two chargers, and in the Spring I had to replace...

What did you do to your bike today?

Definitely agree with what skibum69 said. I had a pair of boots resoled by Modern Shoe Hospital this summer for $80.00 and very pleased. Just check with them about your boot to see if and how they plan to resole it. If the boot was designed to be resoled with external welt threading like my...

New Gear - Jacket and Pants

So far I've crashed enough to destroy three helmets, two bikes, two prs boots, two prs jeans, one pr gloves and one pr prescription sunglasses. Injuries during those follies included nasty road rash, broken but nondisplaced metatarsal, fractured but nondisplaced pelvis, and a vertically split...

What's in your trailside tube repair kit?

Apart from the basic tools, you might want to check out the differences between 'rubber cement' and 'vulcanizing fluid' and decide for yourself which works best for you. I have yet to use vulcanizing fluid, but I've applied many 'hot patches' to tubes and 'hot boots' to seal the tire wall cuts...

Resent it to your email. Bit of volume so let it seep for a month or so and maybe give me your feedback.

    Anything about Gyms

When you see a caret at the beginning of a post it refers to the last poster. Saves all that 'reply' clutter. In this case two carets, one for you, and one for the other likely suspect.

    youtube channels

A number of RTR Inmates have youtube channels. I usually 'subscribe' to and 'like' them but I don't always get 'notifications' that a new vid has been posted. Is there something the poster has to do for their subscribed audience to get a notification? I always get notifications from some of...

Camping Gear - What works, what don't?

^ You can always 'season to taste' of course. I'm going to try sea salt and some unground black pepper next time, maybe some blue cheese or capers. Lots of options, plus toutens are only sides so right now I'm just working out sensible portion sizes equivalent to a slice or two of bread...

Camping Gear - What works, what don't?

Toutens for two: 1 cup flour, 1 teaspoon quick rising yeast, 1 teaspoon salt, 1/2 cup warm water. Mix, knead, let rise 45 mins. Fry in 1/4 cup of butter.

Today I worked on my moto camping touten. Toutens are the gear :)

    Chain lubber upper

This stuff is "Suitable for standard O, X and Z chains." And "...you can check for any unseen overspray by shining a UV torch on components." Hopefully my rechargeable headlamp has a UV mode. LOL To preserve my precious stash of used toothbrushes I picked up this cleaning brush which I'll use...

New Gear - Jacket and Pants

I used to have an A-Stars compression suit but I sold that with the WR450. I've been looking online for something similar but haven't committed to anything yet. I'm thinking about some lighter layering options for higher temps. I know it may involve mesh but I hate how that stuff traps the bugs.
