Pacific Northwest Trip

IMG_0192.JPG So my friend Turk and I set out on our Trip on Saturday morning with a stop at the famous Delta Diner for breakfast.
Alas, we missed their annual blessing of the bikes event in our desire to accumulate some miles on our way to our first night's stop in Grand Forks, North Dakota. We might have had the beginning of some regrets for our rush when we endured torrential downpours across Minnesota before reaching our nights destination. We felt better yesterday on our 640 mile ride across North Dakota and much of Montana to our resting place in Havre, Montana, but had second thoughts today when we started encountering sleet approaching Glacier National Park. We wisely decided to take refuge in the Historic Glacier Hotel shortly before noon, where they took pity on us and found us a couple rooms. They also cheerfully mentioned that it had snowed the previous day. So much for camping a mile high this year.
Consolation is the magnificent lodge we are staying in.
So much for budget travel!
