"Howdy ya'll" from a Virginia boy with a broken down scooter on The Rock. My name is Mike Saunders and I've traveled over 60k mi in the past 14 months aboard a 49cc Ruckus from VA>Key West>Prudhoe Bay>Baja, Mexico and just crossed the TLH in 3 days time.

As the thread title suggests, I'm currently broken down on the western coast of Newfoundland after having my last spare CVT belt melt and snap on me just south of Plum Point. In a stroke of fortune, a passing motorist offered me a friend's garage nearby and camper to sleep in for the night as well as a ride to Corner Brook since he was going the following day. I've come to learn such hospitality and helpfulness is as common to Newfoundlanders as the wind and fog.

I've been camping out near Corner Brook for 4 days now but my clutch parts should arrive by Wed July 8th, 2015 then I can hitch my way north to the scooter and replace the broken components.

I'll be researching the island and hope to spend a month exploring the many peninsulas, islands and chip shops throughout this incredible land. If there's any riders here who'd be willing to lend a yard to camp in, I'd gladly repay you in stories from the road and Screech!
