First US Cross Border Trip Since Covid!!

For many years, I have done anywhere from two to four trips to New England for riding and camping in Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont and upstate New York. Since I was working at the time, trips tended to be a three day weekend with two nights of camping - usually in one of the state parks. Great roads and great camping. I have the luxury of going mid-week so campgrounds and tourist areas are far less crowded (especially after Labour Day). I haven't been across the border (except once to pick up a package in Calais, ME) since before I retired and the year before the start of Covid.

Looking forward to heading out on Monday to Gorham NH where I am camping for two nights at Moose Brook State Park. A day there, a day back and a full day of riding in New Hampshire (and a bit in western Maine). Should be a nice relaxing weekend! The region gets busy again in autumn "leaf peeping season" so I probably won't get back again this year. Supposed to be unseasonably warm with highs 31-32°C and lows 18-19°C. Probably cooler at elevation. Sunny all three days. Warmer than ideal but I'm not bothered that much by a little heat. Around 1600 km in total.

Picking up some motorcycle parts delivered to PO in Calais on the way home - spare Madstad windscreen smaller than the one I have. Way cheaper to ship to a US address than to ship to Canada. Since I will be there in excess of 48 hours, I can bring back as much as $800 without paying duty or HST.

Obligatory bottle of over-proof rum at the duty free shop as well...
